Research engineer at NVIDIA developing AI framework for simulation and spatial computing
His Duke era: “I studied physics at Duke. It can be a challenging subject, but my professors demonstrated what exemplary first-principle thinking looks like: I can recall the lectures of Robert Brown, Joshua Socolar, Ronen Plesser, Henry Greenside, and Hubert Bray to this day. You don’t get very far in physics without internalizing concepts first, and this practice has served me well at NVIDIA.”
In the world: “I work with a team of world-class engineers, at a company with hundreds of such teams. My work is a drop in the bucket, but our bucket helps fill the sea. At the end of the day, I measure success by answering questions like: “Have I understood more than I did at the start of the day? “Have I helped other people?” And most importantly, “Have I done well by my family?”
“Nothing is more satisfying than bringing new ideas into the world, having immersed yourself in what has come before.”
