On success: “In many ways, in being able to support myself as an independent artist, I already feel wildly successful. I think to me, success is being able to continue to create something new every day, even if it’s one word of a joke or a fraction of a scene and not being afraid to reinvent or reimagine what my art could be. It’s ensuring I create work that never compromises my values, and work that is vaguely educational or at least can empower others to be curious. Finally, success to me means not putting my health or relationships above my art, to ensure I can work sustainably and joyfully.”
“I currently split my time between six jobs doing science education, community engagement and arts management work for a variety of businesses around the Triangle. My creative life is sort of like a vegetarian meal – all sides, no main, but it fills me up just fine.”
